Materials list for Studio Art

Materials are the same as for watercolor, with the addition of:

1. ink (speedball superblack is the only one that actually a true black, if your picky)

1. Watercolor paper-
Canson and Strathmore make 9x12 pads that can be bought for a few dollars. Avoid the pads of crayola wet media paper, they are truly useless.

2. Watercolors-
In tubes or pans. Reeves sells decents tube sets, and Prang makes the classic pan set for beginners. The Yarka pan set is also good.
Rose art and sparkly crayola are to be avoided, they are hard to paint with.

3.Brushes-
All you need is one largish brush (the diameter of a pinky) that comes to a nice point, and you are set. White nylon brushes a great and ecomomical.

4.Cellulose sponge-
Surprisingly useful, to blot excess water and blending

5.Water container

6. cardboard or foam core to support paper

7. A few clips or tape

8. pencil (Ticonderoga or 2b artist pencil)

9. eraser
